Resourceful Communities offers a variety of training opportunities to strengthen community programming. Our trainings are designed to meet the needs of grassroots organizations and take many forms: workshops, individual trainings, and peer learning visits. Support is provided at no cost.

Faith + Lands 2.0:  Walk the Plan (Webinar)

Target Audience
This workshop is aimed at churches in rural communities who are ready to begin acting on their land-use idea.

Goals/Objectives:

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • Receive land reports for their church, along with the tools to interpret and make decisions from those reports
  • Learn about resources and strategies that advance land use through partnerships
  • Take home a project planning tool that can help their church act on their land-use plan

Food Pantries: Keeping it FRESH (Webinar)

This workshop is aimed at churches and small food pantries in rural communities who are new to local food sourcing or could use guidance on how to keep food fresh for longer.

Workshop Objectives

  • Learn strategies for HOW to extend produce quality, including temperature and moisture control
  • Learn of different cold storage options that fit your pantry’s space and budget constraints, and where to find them
  • Learn strategies for handling produce to maximize freshness

The following information applies to all events:


COST:  There is no charge to attend, but ALL participants must register in advance.

MEALS:  Snacks and lunch will be provided as needed.

MILEAGE ALLOWANCE:  A mileage allowance is provided, limit one allowance per car.

LODGING:  Lodging is offered to those driving more than 2 hours to the workshop closest to your home.
