Rich Deitchman

Regional Counsel – Pacific and Assistant Secretary

Rich joined The Conversation Fund in 2023, where he provides legal advice associated with conservation land transactions in the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii.  Prior to joining the Fund, Rich was a Shareholder at Somach Simmons & Dunn P.C. where he focused his practice on water and natural resources issues throughout the West.  His experience includes trial and appellate litigation in state and federal courts, and transactional support for the purchase and sale of agricultural and other lands.

Rich has a B.A. in Geology from Hamilton College, a M.S. in Environmental Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School.
