He led numerous projects resulting in 15,000 acres of conservation within Santa Cruz and its adjacent counties. Of note was the Highway 17 wildlife corridor project which protected a critical wildlife corridor and constructed California’s first purpose-built wildlife crossing structure over the highway.

Dan lives in Sant Cruz with his daughter. He loves outdoor adventures; his interests include surfing, sailing, mountaineering, skiing and hunting.
