Farms Fund Specialist

Alexander is The Conservation Fund’s Farms Fund Specialist. His work is rooted in supporting farmers and the land they steward. Making sure farmers and the land alike have the resources to not only grow but sustain is essential to the future of agriculture.

Since 2017, Alexander has focused much of his time and energy on environmental health initiatives in Southwest Atlanta. This is after transitioning out of the equestrian business as a rancher and farrier. Community Programs coordinator, Urban and Rural Farm management, and Ranching have all contributed to his expertise and passion in and around agriculture. In 2017 Alexander became a certified Journeyman Farmer and Small Ruminant Journeyman Rancher through UGA/FVSU ag extension. Alexander has also been engaged as a panelist with organizations such as MANRRS, The Oxygen Project and Georgia Organics sharing expertise on regenerative agriculture, breaking down the Farm Bill, and minority land access.

Alexander is also a trained community Heir’s Property (Alcorn State University Heir’s Property Center) educator as well received his Community Data collection certificate through Emory University’s HERCULES Community Health department in the Rollins School of Public Health. Following his role as Georgia Farm Bureau’s South Fulton Young Farmer and Rancher Chair, Alexander was selected to represent the southeast cohort as a Land Policy Fellow with the National Young Farmers Coalition in 2022-2024.

Throughout his career, Alexander has played a vital role in connecting organizations, researchers, educators, and agricultural practitioners to advance sustainable community-based solutions and resources. Most recently, Alexander founded Native Outfitters, an organization dedicated to supporting and coordinating sustainable youth programs.
