Urban Conservation Program Associate


Stacia Turner expert photo2Stacia has over a decade of experience engaging the community and youth in environmental advocacy and urban sustainability issues. She works in the Parks with Purpose program to assist communities across cities in the Southeast advocate for urban greenspace acquisitions and sustainable urban remediation projects. She draws from her experience in community organizing and grassroots activism to build partnerships and to facilitate sustainable urban land use and conservation planning that centers community engagement and environmental justice. 

Prior to joining The Conservation Fund, Stacia has worked for Arlington County’s Environmental Management Office, implementing recycling ordinances and engaging the community in environmental education and outreach activities. She also has experience coordinating environmental academic programs for underrepresented students, and working among various food system stakeholders to integrate food security into urban planning and design strategies.

She holds a M.S. in Environmental Studies from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and a B.A. in Sustainability from Arizona State’s Global Institute of Sustainability
