Natalie Redman

Environmental Laboratory Technician 

Natalie cropNatalie began her work at Freshwater Institute as an intern in 2014 and now works as an Environmental Laboratory Technician in the water chemistry laboratory.  She is responsible for the day-to-day workings of the laboratory as well as training new laboratory student interns. She consistently contributes to Freshwater Institute’s research as she performs numerous chemical, physical, and biological analyses of the aquaculture water and wastewater at the facility.

Natalie’s involvement with denitrification projects outside of the laboratory led to her senior capstone research which focused on alternative fuel sources for denitrification technologies. She will graduate from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a concentration in Aquatic Science and a minor in Biology in May of 2016. She will then begin her Master’s degree in Environmental Biology from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.
