Emy Brawley

State Director, Illinois and Director, Great Lakes Region, Conservation Acquisition

Emy works across the Midwest, including Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin, to offer the full array of the Fund’s programs and services to its conservation partners.

An attorney by training, she has over 20 years experience with complex real estate transactions; strategic conservation planning; multifaceted project management; and innovative acquisition financing structures. She works closely with the Fund’s Mitigation Solutions, Conservation Loans, and Conservation Acquisitions teams to provide species mitigation, lending and acquisition services. Emy is also responsible for the management of the Fund’s work to implement the Greenseams® and Working Soils® programs for partner the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. Previously, she worked as Vice President of Conservation for Openlands (a Chicago-based land trust).

Past experience includes serving as acquisitions agent for Boulder County Parks and Open Space and representing private landowners, land trusts and local governments in private law practice. She holds a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
