The Conservation Fund has provided critical mitigation services for all seven sectors of major infrastructure development: wind, solar, oil, gas, transmission, hydro, and transportation!

Our Mitigation Solutions team brings together more than 100 years of pertinent expertise, having served as members of the regulated community, leaders in government agencies, as national and local conservation practitioners, and as specialists in land and financial transactions.
Infrastructure improvements are underway throughout America, and we recognize that balancing economic development with sound environmental practices is essential for America's prosperity. Our mitigation solutions achieve important conservation results by protecting high-priority wildlife habitat, clean water, and recreation areas.

We act as a partner, working with project developers, regulators and conservationists to create plans that mitigate for unavoidable impacts on our natural and cultural resources. We work at the site level, as well as at landscape scale, offering comprehensive, credible and highly efficient services to develop compensatory and voluntary mitigation packages. With keen understanding of business needs, deep legal expertise, comprehensive knowledge of conservation opportunities, and unmatched agency credibility, we deliver timely solutions to our partners.  Ultimately, conservation guides everything we do.

Our goal is to accomplish mitigation that is meaningful, comprehensive and transparent.  We believe that project developers should seek to avoid and/or minimize adverse impact, whenever possible.  When adverse impacts are unavoidable, however, compensatory mitigation packages will need to be developed in concert with legal requirements to  support conservation of similar resources. We are able to ‘turn-key’ implementation of these compensatory mitigation packages ensuring high-levels of conservation.

We work to achieve enduring conservation solutions by protecting lands and waters with specific desired values, such as high-priority wildlife habitat, clean water and recreation areas.

Our role is to focus on conservation solutions that provide better ecological outcomes and therefore are more attractive to regulating agencies.  In this way, we help ensure that environmental considerations are not an afterthought.
