The Conservation Fund has the distinction of being the nation’s Top-Rated land conservation organization. Our efficiency is a hallmark of who we are. We’re committed to executing our mission with the lowest overhead and highest programmatic investment in our field. That means, we put an average of 96% of our budget directly into conservation programs and just 1% into fundraising. We put more of your money directly in the ground than any other environmental charity in the country.

For our efforts, we are rated A+ by Charity Watch, have earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, and have achieved Charity Navigator’s coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.

The Fund is also nationally recognized for going beyond financial metrics to meet the highest standards of effectiveness in achieving results. We have been awarded accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission for demonstrating the quality of our work and the permanent results of our conservation efforts.

Our work is made possible with generous support from individuals, foundations, corporations and government agencies. Our commitment to accountability and donor transparency remains a cornerstone of our operations.

“As the nonprofit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, savvy donors are demanding more accountability, transparency and quantifiable results from the charities they choose to support with their hard-earned dollars. The Conservation Fund has earned a 4-star rating indicating that the organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. This “exceptional” designation from Charity Navigator differentiates The Conservation Fund from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
