Confronting haphazard sprawl, Delaware state leaders turned to us in 2006 to assess the green infrastructure resources in Kent County. We convened a forum of public and private leaders to better understand conservation priorities and conducted original research to evaluate the area’s natural resources. As part of this project, we:
- Mapped the county’s network of forests, wetlands and water systems.
- Documented working landscape protection programs.
- Identified development management and land conservation tools to achieve local and state conservation objectives.
