Florida's Kanapaha Prairie is a great example of how the Fund works to protect land and water resources for the benefit of wildlife and the local community. Browse through the images and learn more about our work protecting this important landscape.
Kanapaha Prairie, near Gainesville in Alachua County, is part of north-central Florida's vast system of wet prairies, which are important stopover points for migratory birds. Each year thousands of sandhill cranes, and a small number of endangered whooping cranes, migrate to the prairie's 700-plus acres.
Photographer Mac Stone generously donated his images of Kanapaha Prairie to the Fund. To see more of his work visit MacStonePhoto.com.
