Controller


Michael-Cox 205x250Michael Cox is the Fund's Controller. He is responsible for recording and managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations whose net asset total approximately $500M.  This is accomplished through his continuous interaction with over 23 national field offices, and the implementation of control policies and procedures to ensure the company’s resources are protected as well as its obligations are properly disclosed.  Michael has played a role in assisting companies—primarily in the not-for-profit industry—across the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area with building financial infrastructure, developing and implementing financial internal controls policies and procedures, and organizational strategic planning.  He has over 20 years experience in not-for-profit and public accounting.

Michael serves as a member on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Conservation Leadership (ICL); a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountant; a member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Greater Washington, DC Chapter.  During his military tenure, he received the Army Accommodation Medal as well.  Michael received his BS in Accounting from Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, NC, is a CPA, and currently pursuing his MBA in Finance.
