Community Food Coordinator, Resourceful Communities


Jesalyn Keziah
Jesalyn supports grassroots initiatives that advance local food access by connecting community groups with resources and networks to strengthen their work. She draws on experiences in food-centered community organizing and advocacy as well as her deep roots in rural North Carolina. Before her time at the Fund, she worked at the Center for Environmental Farming Systems as the coordinator for NC FYI: Food Youth Initiative, a pilot statewide youth food justice network. Previous roles include a middle school teacher as a Teach For America corps member, community garden organizer, director for a yearly diversity/leadership summit, and field ecologist.  She continues to be a beekeeper.

Jesalyn holds a BA with highest honors in International Studies and Environmental Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill.  She has received multiple awards and fellowships, including being named a Burch Fellow and selection to teach a one-hour course to her peer undergraduates.
