Emilee Nelson

Associate State Director, Minnesota, Conservation Acquisition


Emilee joined The Conservation Fund in 2015 with previous experience working for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Pheasants Forever. Emilee works primarily on real estate protection projects and financing solutions in the northern forests and prairie pothole regions of Minnesota. These projects range from working to secure wetland mitigation banks and completing public-private land exchanges, to partnering with local sportsmen’s groups and the Department of Natural Resources to increase wildlife populations and accessible hunting land. Emilee also works with the Camp Ripley National Guard training facility in central Minnesota to purchase land near the military installation that protects threatened wildlife habitat as well as preserves the National Guard’s regional training mission.

Prior to her work in the conservation field, Emilee graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a B.S. in Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology. She is a Minnesota native and enjoys ice fishing, snowboarding, golf, and archery hunting.
