David Proper is the Urban Program Director for The Conservation Fund. For the past 14 months, David has been responsible for initiating The Fund’s urban conservation effort working with local units of government and other conservation partners across North Carolina. The Urban Program provides real estate expertise and financial assistance to a variety of communities with the conservation of their most important urban landscapes in order to protect water supplies, preserve environmentally sensitive landscapes and create new parks and greenways.

David previously worked with The Trust for Public Land for 13 years, most recently as State Director for North and South Carolina where he managed state-wide programs and local initiatives focused on natural resource protection and open space preservation. David’s private and public work experience provides him with a valuable insight into today’s urban conservation arena.
