Karen Schroyer, M.S., M.B.A is the Environmental Laboratory Manager for the Freshwater Institute. Karen earned her Masters of Environmental Science from Hood College after completing undergraduate studies at Shepherd College. She also holds an M.B.A with a concentration in Technical and Professional Communication and earned in 1989 from Frostburg State University.
Karen came to the Institute in 2008 after a two decade career in managing quality control, regulatory assurance, and technical support for laboratories in the biotechnology sector. Karen specializes in the development and implementation of Good Laboratory Practices, Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs, and process/product validation. She supports Institute teams in safety, regulatory compliance reporting and certification, and water quality research.
