Northeast

Conservation of working forests and farms are a continuing focus for The Conservation Fund's work in the Northeast. In Maine, Vermont, New York and New Hampshire, the largest timberland owners have sold their lands and the Fund has been at the forefront of efforts to protect the traditional economic, recreational and natural benefits they provide. Subdivision of agricultural lands is also a serious threat in the Northeast and the Fund is working with local land trusts and other partners to safeguard these working landscapes.
