This week in Washington, D.C., 31 community organizations received grants to support local greenways, trails, and open space projects. The ceremony also honored four national leaders for outstanding achievement in community conservation.

Elk and Antelope Habitat Protected in Montana
Five year effort ends in success.
Iron Mask Outdoor enthusiasts—not to mention elk, bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, and other wildlife—have new room to roam in Montana’s Elkhorn mountains. The Conservation Fund announced the successful close of a five-year effort to conserve Iron Mask, a 5,548-acre ranch that flanks the eastern side of the mountain range.
