Carbon Sequestration Partners

The Conservation Fund’s Carbon Sequestration Program addresses two of the nation’s top environmental concerns: climate change and habitat protection. Through the bold initiative, the Fund works with leading companies and public agencies to acquire and reforest marginal agricultural lands across the Southeast, thereby offsetting carbon emissions and restoring wildlife habitat. Thus far the Fund and its partners have restored nearly 20,000 acres and planted 6 million trees through its carbon sequestration program. Over their lifetime, these trees will capture an estimated 8 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent from the atmosphere.
