Launched in 2000 with The Conservation Fund, Anheuser-Busch’s consumer-driven Keep it Natural Carolinas campaign includes print, outdoor, and radio advertising, as well as a regional sweepstakes, and aims to raise awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship, watershed protection, and wildlife habitat conservation. In addition to public outreach, a portion of proceeds from sales of Natural Light and Natural Ice beer are donated to The Conservation Fund to support its land and water protection efforts in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Thus far the Keep it Natural program has supported the protection of more than 60,000 acres of wildlife habitat, working landscapes, and recreation areas in North Carolina and South Carolina.
2008 - North Carolina Coastal Federation (NCCF) will focus on a variety of projects that will help protect and restore coastal water quality and habitat, including ongoing work on North River Farms, the largest restoration project in the history of North Carolina. NCCF will also take steps to prepare the coast for future major oyster habitat creation efforts and increase shell recycling statewide from 13,000 bushels to 17,000 bushels.
2007 - In 2007, the Keep it Natural program supported North Carolina Coastal Federation’s work to restore and protect tidal and riparian wetlands, improve water quality and engage local communities in local and statewide coastal issues.
