Gulf Coastal Plain Initiative, AL/FL/GA

To conserve the history, unique natural resources, and scenic beauty of the Red Hills region of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation launched the Gulf Coastal Plain Initiative in 2000. In 2001 the Fund worked with the Red Hills Conservation Program at Tall Timbers Research Station to protect more than 4,600 acres of critical wildlife habitat and forestland through conservation easements.
