Stone Ranch, CO

Few landscapes are as emblematic of America's spirit and character as the working ranches of the West. The historic 375-acre Stone Ranch is no exception. A critical link between Mueller State Park and Dome Rock State Wildlife Area, the cattle ranch is bisected by the Gold Belt National Scenic Byway and serves as a bighorn sheep and elk migration corridor. In partnership with the Palmer Land Trust and with support from Great Outdoors Colorado and USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Fund secured a conservation easement that protects the ranch, its scenic vistas and wildlife habitat from development.
