Bear Paw Battlefield, MT

      

As part of its commitment to preserving America’s cultural heritage, the Fund is working to protect historic sites across the nation. The Fund, supported by the state of Montana, worked with the National Park Service to preserve 200 acres for inclusion in the Bear Paw Battlefield, part of Nez Perce National Historical Park and Nez Perce National Historic Trail. The hallowed ground marks the site of the last battle of the Nez Perce War of 1877.
